4,600 public rental households have moved to home ownership in the past five years: MND
About 4.6K public rental households moved forward to get their own apartments in the recent five years, or around 2 percentage of leasing households every year, exposed the MND in Parliament on Monday 10May.
Of these, 36 % became homeowner in shorter than 5 years, Thirty Two % shifted into their own personal residential properties in five to ten yrs, whilst the balance Thirty Two percentage secured property ownership after at least a decade of living in public spaces rental apartments.
Ministry of National Development put together the statement in action to Member of Parliament Mariam Jaafar’s concern on the percentage of public leasing households, removing those on interim rental housing who are waiting for the completion of their Build-to-Order flats, that go on to attain their personal properties in 3, five and even ten yrs.
The ministry at the same time announced fewer than 10 % went ahead to get their personal homes in less than three yrs as such families often need even more period of time to secure their economic or social condition prior to securing their own residential property.
